Player Spotlights - November 2019

Ben Campanella - Scallywag

Ben “Bail-Out Ben” Campanella was elected by his teammates on Scallywags for the player spotlight for November. Ben is a Scallywags rookie, in his second year of ultimate. He was elected by his teammates primarily because of his abilities in coming down with the disc, one does not earn the nickname Bail-Out Ben for no reason. However, the man is also known to make some spicy undercuts and play tight defense. Ben dedicates his aerial and defensive skills to his basketball career before ultimate.

Daniel McNamara - Scourge

Dan was elected by his fellow scourge teammates for this issue’s Scourge player of the game. As a freshman this is Dan’s first year playing college ultimate. In high school, Dan was a football player. Although the sports are quite different, Dan pulls many aspects of his ultimate game from his football experience. His cutting and catching game make him a threat in the deep space. His skill reading the disc, speed, and hands make even the most mediocre handlers look like a threat. He also earned Scourge MVP at Kennel Kickoff 2019.
